How to Add Custom CSS to Squarespace Sites

Getting to the CSS customization panel on Squarespace is simple. Learning how to add and tailor CSS for your site can be more complicated, but this little guide will help get you started!

What is CSS?

CSS (or Cascading Style Sheets) is a coding language that essentially let’s you customize the appearance or behavior of just about anything on a website. That doesn’t quite cover everything CSS can do, but that’s the basic gist of it.

How do access it on a Squarespace site?

The most common place you’ll be editing CSS on Squarespace is on the Custom CSS panel, this can be reached by, starting at the Dashboard (once you’ve logged into Squarespace and clicked on your site), clicking on:

Website > Pages > (scroll to bottom of sidebar) Website Tools > Custom CSS

From there, the world is your oyster! CSS “plugins” or code snippets can be found all over the internet and are just a search away!
