Choose the Right Squarespace Pricing Plan for your Website
Squarespace is a cost-effective website builder that allows you to create your own website without breaking the bank. To cater to different business and website requirements, Squarespace offers several pricing plans.
So that leads to the obvious question, “Which Squarespace plan should I choose?”
The pricing of Squarespace plans varies from $16 USD to $65 USD per month, based on your specific needs and desired features, billed as either an annual or monthly subscription. The right plan for you depends on several factors, which we’ll cover in-depth in this post.
PRO TIP
The $16 - $65/mo pricing range doesn’t apply if you’re partnering with Log Cabin on your website, or purchasing one of our templates.
Because we’re certified Squarespace Circle developers, that range drops to $12.80 - $39.20/mo with our Circle Discount, click here to get in touch.

Let’s Break Down Squarespace’s Plans
Squarespace Personal Plan
$16/mo billed annually OR $23/mo billed monthly
If you just need a new website up and running, and don’t need any bells and whistles yet, this is the plan for you.
Personal Plan - Pros
Low cost | The Personal Plan is the budget-friendly choice for those seeking to save cost when launching. Great for when you just need a few pages and nothing fancy.
Personal Plan - Cons
No eCommerce | This is a big one if your business has any kind of sales component. This plan doesn't permit you to make online sales, meaning you cannot accept payments for products/services or collect donations.
Limited customization | Very limited access to Squarespace custom coding options, so you’re essentially confined to the builder’s stock design settings.
Premium blocks are a no-go | No premium blocks are available for use unless you subscribe to a business plan or higher. This includes Code Blocks, Donation Blocks, Amazon Blocks, Menu Blocks, Pop-Ups, and a few others.
Maximum of 2 contributors | Contributors are extra users who can make changes to your website. If you’re a small operation, no worries. But if you have a bigger team, you may want to factor this into your decision.
Rudimentary analytics only | Squarespace has integrated analytics that enable tracking of basic metrics such as pageviews, users, and sessions. However, form and button conversion tracking is only available with an upgrade to the Business Plan or higher.
Squarespace Business Plan
$23/mo billed annually or $33/mo billed monthly
If you’re a business/online shop that needs premium blocks and ecommerce, but not necessarily advanced ecommerce functionality - this is the plan for you.
Business Plan - Pros
Ecommerce Simplified | Despite the naming intricacies, don't worry; you don't need to splurge on the "Ecommerce Extravaganza" plans. The Business plan grants you ecommerce capabilities, allowing you to sell products without the need for a more advanced package.
Boost Your Marketing | The Business plan provides valuable marketing tools, including the announcement bar and pop-up features. Use them to effectively promote your email list and latest offerings. Alternatively, utilize a code block to seamlessly embed a sign-up form, a handy way to gather email addresses.
Unlock Premium Blocks | When you choose the Business plan, you gain access to a full suite of premium blocks. This opens the door to embedding email sign-up forms from any provider and incorporating advanced blocks such as scheduling forms.
Code Injection for Customization | Unlike the standard Custom CSS, code injection is an exclusive feature of the Business plan. It allows you to introduce HTML and Javascript to your website, enabling the integration of third-party plugins. For instance, we utilize it for incorporating Memberspace, the host for our Squarespace template video tutorials.
Complimentary Google Workspace | Opt for the annual payment of the Business Plan, and you'll receive a free year of Google Workspace. This includes professional business email and access to a suite of Google Workspace tools like Google Docs and Sheets, adding significant value to your plan.
Business Plan - Cons
Payment Processing Fees | There's a 3% payment processing fee added to your sales when using this plan. In addition to that, you'll still need to deal with the standard Stripe/PayPal fees of 2.9% + 30p. If your monthly sales exceed $266, consider upgrading to the Basic Ecommerce Plan to avoid this 3% fee.
Lack of Advanced Ecommerce Features | This plan is designed for simplicity. It doesn't include advanced ecommerce features like inventory management, order tracking, tax and coupon tools, product integration with Instagram, label printing, customer accounts, advanced ecommerce analytics, or limited availability labels.
Squarespace Basic Commerce Plan
$27/mo billed annually or $36/mo billed monthly
This plan is best for online shops that make sales of more than $266 per month, and/or require advanced ecommerce features.
Basic Commerce Plan - Pros
No Transaction Fees | With this plan, there are no extra transaction fees to worry about. You'll only encounter the standard PayPal/Stripe fees of 2.9% plus 30p for your sales. No need to sacrifice extra coins to the payment processing dragons!
Enhanced Ecommerce Features | This plan offers a range of advanced ecommerce features, including inventory management, order tracking, tax and coupon tools, product integration with Instagram, label printing, customer accounts, advanced ecommerce analytics, and limited availability labels. It's like having a fully-equipped shopping cart with all the features you need.
Basic Commerce Plan - Cons
Missing Some Advanced Ecommerce Features | This plan doesn't include all the advanced ecommerce features. Specifically, it lacks support for subscriptions and gift cards, has limitations on discount code use, doesn't offer abandoned cart auto-recovery, and doesn't provide smart real-time shipping rate calculations.
Squarespace Advanced Commerce Plan
$49/month billed annually or $65/month billed monthly
Designed for thriving online stores, the Advanced Commerce Plan offers additional features tailored to businesses aiming to boost conversion rates and broaden their shipping capabilities
Advanced Commerce Plan - Pros
Subscriptions - The Gift That Keeps on Giving | Not just for magazines or cheese-of-the-month clubs, now you can create recurring revenue streams with subscriptions. Whether it's a membership to your digital cat memes collection or weekly yoga classes, it's your ticket to more consistent cash flow.
Gift Cards - The "I Didn't Know What to Get You" Solution | Because sometimes, picking the perfect present feels like trying to find a unicorn. With gift cards, your customers can grab a voucher for your goods and services. It's the gift of choice, without the guesswork.
Abandoned Cart Auto-Recovery - The Cart Whisperer | Ever had customers who left their shopping carts in the middle of the store? With this feature, you can be the friendly store associate who sends automatic reminder emails to nudge them back. It's like whispering, "Psst, you forgot something!"
Smart Calculation of Real-Time Shipping Rates | Shipping costs can feel like a never-ending mystery. But not with this plan! You get to control shipping rates down to the zip code and tap into real-time rates from shipping giants like FedEx, UPS, and USPS. It's like having your own shipping crystal ball, but without the mysterious fog.
Extra Discount Code Capabilities | Offering discounts is like a game of shopping limbo. How low can you go? With this plan, you've got the power to make discounts auto-magically appear at checkout or have them with limited uses and expiration dates. It's coupon control, and it's in your hands.
Can I switch Squarespace plans after subscribing?
Switching between Squarespace plans is a straightforward process. Whether you're on a monthly or yearly payment schedule, you'll receive a refund for the remaining time on your current plan.
For example, if you've paid $108 for an annual Squarespace plan and used it for 6 months, you'll be refunded for the remaining 6 months.
To request a refund, simply reach out to Squarespace through their live chat, available Monday to Friday from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM EDT. They're known for their responsiveness and helpfulness, making it the recommended way to go.
Quick Tip: If you're downgrading your plan, keep in mind that some website features and functionalities may be limited. Always review the feature changes before making the switch.
Because Squarespace offers such flexibility, it's wise to start with the plan that suits your current needs, and you can always upgrade as your business grows.
